Royal Spanish Guidelines

The Royal Spanish Academy (Real Academia Española (RAE), http://www.rae.es/) was established in 1713 to set guidelines for the Spanish language.  These guidelines are important when ambiguity exists on grammar and usage in Spanish.

  • At Translating Spanish, Inc., we follow the recommendations outline in the RAE to ensure a level of professionalism when translating your documents.  In some cases, local word usage is important to convey the meaning of the text to a local audience, but using colloquial phrases can be risky.  Imagine if your car manual told you to push on the accelerator by “giving it gas, man”!  Translating Spanish, Inc. is dedicated to protecting clients from unprofessional errors of this kind.
